This may be painful for some people to watch.
My first car was a 93 Ford Probe. Blue. I didn’t realize these cars had such a following now. I’d like to think I’m the reason behind that.
Here’s why;
I got my aqua blue probe in the spring of ‘94. a few months later, the girl who lived about a half mile to the right… she got one in seafoam… a few months after that.. the girl who lived about 1/4 of a mile to the left… same car… in seafoam. because they couldn’t get the Aqua. ONLY I could have the aqua… or wanted the aqua… whatevs. They so asked for aqua… but their parents totally thought the seafoam was aqua. lame.
Anyways.. and so began the cult following of the Ford Probe.
True story.
So one of the things I learned in 2009… is to never do business with… um… god, i’m really lacking words here…. we’ll go with people you consider friends (even if only by association) and girls who are used to getting anything they want (from men)… and we’ll leave it at that.
That being said… the business deal leading up to this lesson learned the hard way… left me with no car by the end of the summer. Luckily, I have the type of family who will sacrifice what they can… and sometimes what they can’t just to help out.
I posted a few months back about buying either a Mazda or a Volvo. But it’s the convertible Saab that I’ve always loved…. and I really liked the Rabbit.
So what if the Saab
and the Rabbit
had a little baby????
Well… I think it would be this guy… or girl:
The Volkswagen Eos!!!!! It’s a hardtop and a convertible!!!!! I’ve been checking this car out for the last month or so. I like it. Mmm hmmmm, I do. I first saw it about 2 years back at North Hills… I haven’t seen one on the road since. That may very well be a bad thing…. hopefully not. (Amy… get your hubby on investigating this car for me, please)
And… I didn’t know this until about 5 minutes ago…. but….
coincidentally, Eos… the daughter of Hyperion and Theia, is the sister of Selene (the moon goddess) and Helios (the sun god). I’m reading all of this now as I sit at Cafe Helios… weird? a little. What’s even more weird and most def a sign from… well, the gods themselves…. Eos is the Greek Goddess of…..
wait for it……
THE DAWN!
I look for signs in everything. And well, this my friends… I would say is a sign.
~A Confession and a realization.
(I’m probably gonna piss some teenage/grown ass girls/boys of with this one.)
Confession:
I have never in all my life seen an interview with Robert Pattinson. I’ve never even seen this guy talk (outside of Twilight and New Moon). He’s super pretty… but dude should not make public appearances.
Realization:
Robert Pattinson is an amazing actor.
I don’t know sh*t about acting. All I know is that guy that plays Edward Cullen is so not attractive. He oozes insecurity… and pasty-ness (and not in a vampire kinda way). In a british school boy that never has recess because of some unfortunately rare skin condition kinda way. It’s gross. And he fidgets. lots. and slumps over… way over. Poor Rob. I want to slap that boy in the back of the head and tell him to sit up straight and get his sh*t together.
But on screen. He’s sexy and beautiful and confident and… and….. sparkly! Is Rob the act or Edward? I’m gonna pretend he’s pretending when he’s being Rob…. so we all can have a little glimmer of hope that perhaps…. Edward may exist beyond our fantasies and teenage literature.
“this house is a house of lies. The only way to bring these people back to the truth is to smile and lie as much as they do.”
i think i lived in that house once. briefly.
you live in the sticks (or in this case… the rocks)?
you get a flat tire from running over a squirrel bone.
if i ever remember the drunken details of this classic amy story, i’ll fill you in.
So, Ri has this friend over today from school. I like this friend b/c her parents are the “be home before dark” types. the ones that don’t freak when their kids climb trees. you know… the ones who don’t act as if their kids are made of glass.
Anyway… so they’re here… drawing on our new chalk board wall (my new favorite thing!!). And riley screams… ”ahhhh, mommy come see this”
i look… and there’s an interesting person drawn on the wall. Riley is dying laughing. I just said, “wow!”
and the friend said… ”it’s a penis hanging out”
yes… yes it was. a six year old just drew a naked boy on my wall.
kids are great! i’m so taking a picture when she leaves.
